Stone Luohan Monk, Meditating material-wood The lovely carved lattice designThe eighteen luohans are Buddhist disciples who have reached the enlightened state of 'Nirvana'. Traditionally they are also the guardians of Buddhist temples, known for their wisdom and courage and ability to ward off evil. Each luohan is shown in a different pose and is named accordingly. This one is seated with his hands folded inside his robes in a meditative state. Perfect as an ornament to bring peace and calm either indoors or outside.
